Tips to Keep Your Pets Safe

As July comes to an end, we want to remind pet owners that it's National Lost Pet Prevention Month. This is a crucial time to raise awareness and ensure the safety of our furry friends. Here are some tips to help prevent your pets from getting lost:

  1. Microchip and ID Tags: Ensure your pets have up-to-date ID tags and are microchipped. This significantly increases the chances of being reunited if they get lost.
  2. Secure Your Home and Yard: Check for any escape routes your pet might find, such as gaps in fences or open windows. Make your home and yard as secure as possible.
  3. Leash and Supervise: Always use a leash when walking your pet, and supervise them when they are outside, especially in unfamiliar areas.
  4. Training: Teach your pets basic commands like "stay" and "come." These can be crucial in preventing them from running off.
  5. Current Photos: Keep recent photos of your pets. In case they go missing, you'll have clear images to share in search efforts.
  6. Pet-Friendly Travel: If traveling, ensure your pet is comfortable with the journey and always use a secure carrier or harness.
  7. Pet-Safe Fireworks and Celebrations: July 4th can be particularly stressful for pets. Ensure they are safe and secure during fireworks, and consider using calming aids if necessary.

By following these tips, you can help ensure your pet stays safe and sound. At The Ark Pet Spa and Hotel, we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our guests. Let's work together to keep our furry friends safe!
