About Us

The Ark was founded by pet parents searching for a safe, loving home away from home for their beloved pets. Unable to find a clean and fun place for their pets to stay, Jay Floyd and his family decided to build their own pet boarding facility to help not only his own family but countless other families facing the same dilemma. In 2006, Jay opened the very first Ark Pet Spa & Hotel in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Since then, the Ark offers daycare, boarding and grooming services to pet owners throughout East Tennessee and North Georgia.

What sets The Ark apart from other pet boarding and grooming companies is our dedicated and well-trained crew, our state-of-the-art facilities made with your pet in mind, and our ability to care for all types of pets - from iguanas to pot-bellied pigs. Like our name implies, we welcome pets of every shape and size.

As of the Spring of 2019, the Ark in Southside offers pet boarding, daycare, grooming and retail to pet owners in Southside, Lookout Mountain, Lookout Valley, St. Elmo, and Rossville. All of our crew members at Southside are both pet lovers and pet care professionals. We strive to make every single pet who walks, waddles or flies through our doors feel like a part of the Ark family.

The Ark Southside is located directly across from Finley Stadium, home of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs and Chattanooga FC. Down the road are numerous pet-friendly restaurants including Southside SocialThe Flying Squirrel, and Feed Table & Tavern.
